Terms of Service
Last updated 18 August 2026. By downloading or using RelapseLock, you agree to these terms.
RelapseLock is a blocking and tracking tool. It is not therapy, medical advice or a medical device, it cannot block everything, and it is not designed to be impossible to remove. Section 4 sets out exactly what it can and cannot do — please read it before subscribing.
1. Who may use RelapseLock
RelapseLock is rated 17+ and is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. If you are under 18, please do not download or use the app.
You need an iPhone running a supported version of iOS, and you must grant Screen Time (Family Controls) authorisation. Without that permission iOS will not allow the app to block anything, and the app will tell you so rather than pretending otherwise.
2. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use RelapseLock on Apple devices you own or control, in line with Apple's App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse-engineer or attempt to derive the source code of the app except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it.
The app, its name, its design and its content remain ours. Anything you write in the app — your reason, your logs — remains yours, and stays on your device.
3. Subscriptions, trial and billing
RelapseLock is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store. Plans are offered weekly, monthly and annually, and a free trial may be offered to new subscribers.
| Plan | Price | Renews |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly | $3.99 | Every week |
| Monthly | $9.99 | Every month |
| Annual | $39.99 | Every year |
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- Renewal is automatic unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the period.
- Free trials convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel beforehand. The app shows you the real date your trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription during it.
- Managing and cancelling is done in your Apple Account settings, not in the app. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Prices vary by region and may change. We will not increase the price of an existing subscription without the notice and consent Apple requires.
Refunds
All purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are at Apple's discretion and follow Apple's process. We cannot issue refunds ourselves. Request one through reportaproblem.apple.com. If you believe something in the app is broken, email us first — we would rather fix it.
If your subscription ends
We do not switch your blocking off when a subscription lapses. Protection you already set up keeps running. Your streak, progress and settings become read-only until you resubscribe.
4. What the app does, and what it cannot do
This section is the important one. RelapseLock works within limits iOS imposes on every app, and we would rather you knew them now than discovered them later.
What it does:
- Blocks adult websites using the content restrictions built into iOS.
- Shields apps you select, during hours you choose, all-or-nothing per app.
- Delays turning that protection off by an interval you set in advance.
- Tracks streaks and slips you log yourself, on your device.
What it does not do:
- It does not filter content inside other apps. iOS provides no mechanism for one app to inspect or filter what is shown inside another. Shielding an app blocks the entire app.
- It does not use a blocklist we maintain. Website blocking relies on Apple's own classification of adult content. Sites Apple's filter does not catch will not be blocked, and we cannot add them.
- It does not cover every browser. Third-party browsers and browsers embedded inside other apps may not be subject to the same restrictions.
- It is not unbypassable. Screen Time access can be revoked in iOS Settings and the app can be deleted. The delay adds friction and time; it does not make removal impossible, and we make no claim that it does.
- It makes no health claims. We do not claim any effect on testosterone, fertility, sleep, confidence, relationships or mental health, and nothing in the app should be read as such a claim.
You are responsible for choosing which apps and hours to protect, and for the consequences of shielding an app you also rely on for something else. Set your schedule with that in mind.
5. The delayed-disable mechanism
By design, turning protection off takes 15, 30 or 60 minutes depending on the delay you chose. During a countdown the delay cannot be shortened, and it can be extended but not reduced. This applies to deleting your in-app data as well, since that would also remove protection.
You are agreeing to this on purpose. You will at some point want protection off immediately and be unable to have it. That is the feature working, not a defect, and it is not grounds for a refund. If you need immediate access to a shielded app in an emergency, you can revoke Screen Time access in iOS Settings or delete the app.
6. Not medical advice
RelapseLock is a self-management tool. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional care. Nothing in the app or on this site is medical, psychological or clinical advice. If your use of pornography or any related behaviour is affecting your health, work or relationships in ways you cannot manage, please speak to a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services.
7. Privacy
RelapseLock collects no personal data and has no server. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that blocking will be uninterrupted, complete or error-free, and iOS behaviour, Apple's classifications and third-party apps may change without notice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for a relapse, failure to block, or any outcome connected with using or not being able to use the app.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all statutory rights that cannot be excluded, and these terms do not affect them.
9. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
10. Ending your access
You can stop using RelapseLock at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the app. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or use the app unlawfully. Sections 4, 6, 8, 9 and 11 survive the end of these terms.
11. Changes, governing law and contact
We may update these terms. Material changes will be dated at the top of this page, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
